Dear students,
One
female student from the 43rd batch was found to be positive (PCR) in
the morning (26/04). She had few suspicious symptoms and was isolated in
one of the staff rooms for 2 days before the PCR is being done. She
will be sent to Arachchikanda Hospital.
Health
authorities identified about 40 first line contracts and they will
have their PCRs done in the Faculty Premises tomorrow (27/04) morning.
Those students were advised to be in the hostels in the same rooms until
the testing done and to adhere in to health guidelines. All the
academic activities for the 43rd batch is temporarily suspended.
All the other students are allowed to follow the academic activities without any alteration.
The
students will not allowed to leave hostels to go home and the students
who have left the hospitals over the weekend with permission or without
permission will not be allowed to return to the hostels until the
situation is re-assessed.
These messages are already communicated to the students.
I
need your full corporation and support to go through this difficult
period like in the past. All these decisions were discussed extensively
with the Health Authorities.
Dean.
Faculty of Medicine.
